1st shift- flexible depending on the project

We are currently looking for experienced Fire Alarm Technicians – Level 2 for commercial fire alarm installation projects. Position Overview:
• Perform intermediate-level fire alarm installation work in commercial construction and operational building environments
• Support installation, wiring, mounting, testing, and troubleshooting of commercial fire alarm systems
• Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining quality and production standards
• Assist Lead Technicians with project completion, device verification, and system preparation
• Represent the company professionally while working in active construction and occupied environments

Key Responsibilities:
• Install and route fire-rated cabling (FPL, FPLP, FPLR) according to project specifications and NFPA 72 requirements
• Mount, wire, and install fire alarm devices including pull stations, smoke detectors, heat detectors, duct detectors, horn strobes, speaker strobes, tamper switches, flow switches, and modules
• Perform intermediate-level terminations with proper polarity, wire identification, loop configuration, and panel-side preparation
• Read and interpret fire alarm drawings, device layouts, wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, and specification sheets
• Install and support EMT conduit, cable trays, J-hooks, backboards, and raceway systems
• Assist with panel wiring preparation including routing, labeling, organizing wire harnesses, and dressing enclosures
• Conduct preliminary device testing including continuity checks, voltage checks, zone verification, and pre-inspection readiness tasks
• Identify installation issues and assist with basic troubleshooting under Lead Technician guidance
• Document completed work including device counts, wire routes, installation changes, and daily production updates
• Ensure all installed devices meet correct mounting heights, orientation, and manufacturer installation requirements
• Coordinate and collaborate with other trades when workspace coordination is required
• Maintain compliance with Sterling Personnel quality expectations and all jobsite safety standards
• Provide support, guidance, and instruction to Level 1 Technicians and Helpers

What We're Looking For:
• Prior experience in fire alarm or low-voltage installation environments preferred
• Understanding of NFPA 72 fundamentals and commercial fire alarm system components
• Ability to read and interpret fire alarm drawings, schematics, riser diagrams, and device layouts
• Experience with device wiring, panel-side preparation, cable routing, and fire alarm installations
• Ability to perform cable pulling, conduit support installation, and system device mounting
• Ability to work independently while maintaining quality workmanship and productivity
• Professional appearance and respectful attitude required on all job sites
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with team members and leadership
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in elevated spaces including ladders, lifts, stair towers, and ceiling areas
• Comfortable working in commercial construction, renovation, and active building environments
• Reliable transportation required; travel between projects may be required
• Willingness to work overtime or irregular hours based on project schedules and deadlines
