Security & Access Control Technician- Level 2 & Level 3

We are currently looking for experienced Security & Access Control Technicians – Level 2 & Level 3 for commercial and industrial security system projects. Position Overview:
• Perform intermediate-level installation work involving CCTV and access control systems in commercial and industrial environments
• Support installation, termination, configuration, and troubleshooting of low-voltage security systems
• Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining quality and production standards
• Assist Lead Technicians with project completion, device integration, and system preparation
• Represent the company professionally while working in active construction and occupied environments

Key Responsibilities:
• Install, route, and terminate low-voltage cabling for cameras, readers, door strikes, maglocks, control panels, sensors, and security hardware
• Mount and install CCTV cameras including dome, bullet, turret, PTZ, and specialty camera housings
• Install and wire access control devices including card readers, REX sensors, request-to-exit bars, push-to-exit devices, keypads, and electric door hardware
• Perform intermediate-level wiring terminations including RJ45, Wiegand, maglock/power, REX, and panel wiring
• Assist with panel pre-wiring, device addressing, grounding, and enclosure layout preparation
• Read and interpret engineered drawings, riser diagrams, wiring schematics, and device installation instructions
• Conduct basic device testing and troubleshooting including continuity verification, polarity checks, and functionality testing
• Support Lead Technicians with panel connections, power supply wiring, lock integration, and access control configuration preparation
• Label and document all cabling and device installations with accuracy and consistency
• Install cable pathways, conduit support hardware, rack components, and cable management systems
• Maintain accurate notes regarding device locations, wiring changes, and project modifications
• Communicate effectively with Leads regarding production updates, issues, and material shortages
• Follow all Sterling Personnel and jobsite safety policies at all times
What We're Looking For:
• Prior experience in security systems or low-voltage installation environments preferred
• Strong knowledge of CCTV components, access control hardware, and low-voltage wiring practices
• Experience terminating, routing, labeling, and testing low-voltage cabling with consistency and accuracy
• Ability to interpret riser diagrams, wiring schematics, and installation layouts with minimal supervision
• Understanding of door hardware components and access control integration
• Ability to work independently while maintaining quality workmanship and productivity
• Professional appearance and respectful attitude required on all job sites
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with team members and leadership
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work at elevated heights using ladders and lifts
• Comfortable working in commercial construction environments including ceilings, exterior walls, mechanical rooms, and active job sites
• Reliable transportation required; travel between projects may be required
• Willingness to work overtime or weekends based on project schedules and deadlines
